15 kg of hops...

Freezer is OK, right?

My freezer is fine. Thanks for asking.

I just got a box with 5 lbs from Hops Direct.  I’m not sure what I was thinking.  I always do that when I order hops.  That will take some creative arranging of freezer space.  Luckily some of it is pellets.

Yes, but is your refrigerator running?

…Ithankyou

Yup…vacuum sealed and frozen is a happy place for those little green devils.

I inventoried my hops the other day…I’ve got 32+ lb. crammed into my freezer!  I have GOT to stop buying hops!

No, you need to brew MORE!

Well, tomorrow will be my 2nd brew session in 5 days…

I don’t have 32lbs, but I have more than I need.

I have more than I need too, probably 12 lbs.  The problem is the 30 lbs of salmon that are also in the freezer.

You need to brew some IPAs Denny!

Start brewing in barrels and you’ll find 32 pounds not nearly enough

It depends on the beer you’re making, right?

Ah, true. With my centennial ale I laugh at Jim Koch’s “more than a pound per barrel” hop utilization. But not by much.

Trade you hops for salmon!

That’s one heck of a lot of hops Denny…better start brewing IIPA’s.  8)

I laugh at that commercial too. But then I taste a Sam Adams, and wonder where all those hops are going. ???

“lost in transit” perhaps?

I just packed my new 5lb shipment of hops into the garage freezer.  I got everything in.  But my wife is not going to be pleased when she sees that.  I think I should have ordered more pellets and less leaf.  I also think I have a hop hoarding problem.

I need to ramp up my production of IPAs…

Have some high alpha left over from 08 vacuum sealed. For now just paying the going price at the LHBS.

Sounds like you need a dedicated hop freezer!
