2 micron or .5 micron store

After 4 years it seems that it is time to replace my oxygenation stone.  I originally purchased a .5 micron stone to go with the red-tank O2 source but I am open to suggestions for the replacement.

Any suggestions?

The science says to use the smallest you can. Mine is the 2 micron I think. It works. They say that tiny bubbles make for more surface contact. In theory you use less gas. Ya, probably, on paper. But its not like a 2 micron is the same as just blowing gas through a 1/2" garden hose.

I use the 2 micron stone just fine as well.  I can typically get 7-9 batches of home-brew out of one of those red O2 tanks which lasts me quite a well since I only use them for stronger OG’s or lagers.  For other normal gravity beers I simply shake the crap out of the carboy for 5 min with good results.

I can’t imagine why an oxygenation stone, if properly taken care of, wouldn’t last forever. 0.5 µ works great for me.

Who needs pure O2 when there is the poor man’s aerator? ;D

ok i’ll bite…what you doing with that  :o
