Woke up to 4 batches of beer on the garage floor. The magnetic tap list white board fell down perfectly and opened all 4 faucets. At least I have an excuse to convert my other fridge and get rid of the current old one…
NNNOOOOO!!!
F**k !!! The odds of that opening all 4 taps must be like winning the lottery, but in reverse. Really sorry to hear that, Chris. Better fire up the strike water - can’t be out of homebrew all summer!
Ouch! A lot of labor went into those four kegs! Now probably a lot of labor to clean up the garage floor.
I wish I could hit a golf ball with that kind of accuracy
Yeah pretty bummed and I don’t even have anything in the fermenter as I had just kegged a hoppy lager that i didn’t even get to touch. My wife is awesome though. She said I should brew tomorrow and Tuesday. My brother in law said we can do a double batch at his house so I should be back up pretty quick. I have a sack of pilsner so may go with a pils or smash so I don’t have to go to the lhbs if I do brew tomorrow.
I did get the newer bigger fridge converted over and all my faucets and lines cleaned so that’s good. It had been way too long.
:( >:( Well, at least it was the garage. That could ruin a lot of stuff if it happened inside.
That may be the saddest thing I’ve ever heard. You’re taking it remarkably well. I’d still be punching holes in the garage wall and flinging kegs about.
I am also impressed with your attitude. I had a couple of bad days recently, but yours put it into perspective. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, that would make me cry.
I think the wife was surprised I didn’t cry. Seriously. I might be surprised myself.
That’s just awful!
Yikes… that’s like Shakespeare level tragedy… Sounds like you’ve got a good support system though.
Cheers to the future!
What does beer licked up off of a concrete floor taste like?
Murphy! Sorry man that sucks.
I’ve had 2 drain, but never 4. I never even tasted that Kolsch. S**t happens! My ferment freezer just quit in the middle of what was to be brew week. Time to filler up[emoji1417]
That happen to me as well about 2 years ago. I taped off the area on the frig and used chalkboard paint. Problem solved.
Great idea! I got the new fridge converted over and a batch of cider and beer in fermenters. I think I will steal your idea so I don’t somehow have to deal with this nonsense again. I know there is whiteboard paint too so I may go that route.
FWIW I switched to the chalkboard tap handles and like them pretty well.
Another good suggestion.
