Advanced Chemistry of Beer and Brewing Webinar

This was sent this to members of our homebrew club, P.A.L.E., but I thought it would be worth posting here. Wish I could watch this, but work gets in the way. Maybe some of you can enjoy this. Dr. Charles Bamforth will be giving his insight about the chemistry behind brewing beer followed by a Q&A session.

More info here.

Excellent!  I just registered.  Thank you for posting this RB!

Let me know how you like it!  I hope they make it available for download. Our company does a lot of Go To Meeting webinars and we don’t offer downloads to the public.  I hope the ACS is different.

I am registered as well. Looking forward to it. Thanks for posting the info.

His earlier webinar is recorded here: http://acswebinars.org/bamforth

I was traveling & had missed it, but I’m registered for this one.

Awesome

Quick reminder, this is at 2PM EDT.  EDT.

I’ve got to rearrange some stuff. ::slight_smile:

Fabulous!

Dang!  Wont allow it at work.

DAMMIT!!!

It’s like a frickin airline!  How about you don’t accept more registrations than you can handle?  >:(

I hope some of you were able to connect, let us know how it went.

Nope, got locked out as well.  Watching the webinar from August instead as we speak.

I will be listening to the recorded version as well.  I hope everyone that got in remembers that some questions actually are stupid questions.  :)  My fav question from the last webinar (bear in mind that Dr. Bamforth is a brew chem genius); “Umm, yeah, so I hear that some beer actually is made with cat piss…is that true?”  ::slight_smile:

Seriously?!  Hilarious!  He’s got kind of a dry sense of humor, what did he say?  I wish he’d said something along the lines of “no commercial beers that I know of, but maybe some homebrewers have done it”.

Credit to him, he had a very smooth reply.  Dry sense of humor indeed, after answering that question he later refused, momentarily, to answer a question about NA beer.

I was able to get in. I’ve always liked Dr. Bamforth’s approach to things, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wish it could have been longer, but I’m guessing most people’s attention spans wouldn’t last. I’ll admit I’m a nerd when it comes to brewing science, so that wouldn’t be a problem for me.

The moderator was very good, so no stupid questions that I recall. A recorded version will be available within a week or so.

Here is an upcoming webinar for the technical-minded.
