Hey guys brewed an 1 Gal experimental Lite Lager for my father who as i have stated in other posts does not craft beer that much. I based the grain bill off the BJCP guidelines.
Grain Bill:
-Flaked Maize .6lbs
-Briess 2-row .4lbs
-Pilsner Malt .4lbs
-Carafoam .1lbs
-Mt. Hood .2oz(.1oz at 45min and .1oz at 10min)
-Saflager S-23 at ~52F
Stats:
OG: 1.039
FG: 1.008
IBU: 11.348
SRM: 3.8
ABV: 4%
Its in bottles now and is looking pretty clear smelled great during bottling can’t wait to try!
I brew Pro-Prohibition Pilsner (Pre-Pro Pils) for my non-craft beer drinking family members. Pre-Pro Pils is light enough for the BMC crowd and tasty enough for the craft beer crowd. My usual grist is 20% maize/80% American 2-row. My hop of choice for Pro-Pro Pils is Liberty.
Well I haven’t done anything like it before plus I had those grains kicking around and wanted to use them up. If it does turn out pretty well then I definitely will do a large batch.
