Anchor Steam Clone?

I have the San Fran lager yeast, and Northern Brewer hops.  All I need now is a recipe.  I’m looking for as close an Anchor Steam clone as possible.  Any help?  Thanks.

my Cali common recipe is 9# 2 row 1.25 # crystal 60L. I use cascade hops in mine cause I’m a rebel  :wink: It’s pretty close except for the hops. It’s a simple beer.

I use C-40 and a little bit of victory.  US 2-row, for sure.  Three hop additions.

Here’s my latest attempt. Smells delicious from the airlock.  ;)

Yeah I do three hop additions as well. 60, 15 and 0 1.25oz, .75 and 1 I think. I don’t have my notes with me. I have been thinking about tweaking it but this weekend will be my first go with this as an all grain recipe

BU:GU ratio of ~.8?

The bullseye target is a .735 +/- for a BU:GU ratio so .8 is within 10% of that.

1.050 and 40 IBUs sounds good to me, like a very fresh Anchor Steam.  If you’re used to it in bottles, then dialing it back to 35 IBUs would probably be better.

Just in SF this past weekend.  Walls of IPAs in a pub.  I went for the Anchor Steam because I really wanted to taste it fresh again.  Then I went for the Pliny  :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s the name of the pub?  A friend of mine will be traveling to San Fran this weekend.  I’ll direct him to the pub.

Sounds like either Toronado (grungy, but great beer) or Monk’s Kettle (nice enough to take the 'rents, usually very crowded, great beer). Both accessible by public transportation, if your friend plans to do extended “research.”
