Bartender.....

Set me up a tumbler of 100% pommegranite Juice on the rox and add a jigger of vanilla vodka… :o

YUMMO!  thanks 8)

I’ll have a straight grenadine, on the rocks.  ;D

Later when the beer is doing nothing for me. Then it’ll be Dripping Springs and grenadine on the rocks cause I’m out of tequila.

I’m having a little Basil Hayden tonight.  Although I might switch over to a Ketel One martini for the next round.

I’ve actually been enjoying a mojito every once in a while.  :-[

Nothing wrong with that.  I make a mean mojito.

I was just wanting y’all to try that it really is a great drink…just sayin

This is a great blended boat drink:

Bailey’s Banana Colada (BBC)

1 can coconut milk
8 oz Bailey’s
2 oz dark rum
2 oz 99 bananas
2 bananas
Ice

Strong as hell but doesn’t really taste like it.  This is one thing that both my wife and I can drink.  It’s strong enough for me and fruity enough for her.  Just be careful, they sneak up on you.

Mmm… I do enjoy an neat Basil Hayden’s.  I’ve glanced over at to my Four Roses single barrel several times now since I read that.  Perhaps after dark.

Going with my old Summer standby. the G&T

Beefeater
Schweppes Tonic Water
Fee Brothers Bitters
Lime

If you haven’t tried the Fee Brother’s bitters, highly recommended.

The girls mixed up 3 different flavored vodkas tonight and somehow managed to create something that tasted more or less exactly like cake batter ice cream. Not normally a foo-foo drink kind of guy, but damn. I was impressed. And now I know what to serve girls at parties.

Rye whiskey after judging homebrews all day

What’s your Rye of choice Tom?

Maryland Rye, baby

http://www.ellenjaye.com/maryland-baltimore.htm

Roger that.  ;D
My Dad and most of my uncles were Rye whiskey men,  and as a result of being allowed the occasional sample I developed a real love for the stuff myself.  Its been my whiskey of choice for many years.  Seems that it got a bit hard to find for a few years there, but these days WIld Turkey Rye (moderately priced) and  Michter’s Rye (mid/high priced) are tough to beat (unless you manage to find some of the rare old stuff that turns up now and again).  On the cheaper end of things, both Old Overholt and Jim Beam Rye are not a bad value.  Not as complex maybe, but they still go down pretty well.  I’ve had Fritz Maytag’s ‘Old Potrero’ on a few occasions and really enjoyed that as well.

This summer I’ll be in Kentucky for a convention I’ve attended annually for 30 years and look forward to driving home with a supply of assorted Ryes. (The convention center , by the way,  is the site of the late and lamented Oldenburg Brewery).

I’m hoping to find some Laphroaig Cáirdeas, it’s supposed to be in WA this month . . .

Bookers on the rocks will do you every time…make it a double.

Great thread.

Jameson w/one small cube.

A little Glenmorangie 10 with a cube for me tonight.

If you are a whisky drinker I highly recommend Whisky Stones. My wife bought them for me last year for father’s day and they are fantastic, I use them all the time.
