i’m really interested in brewing the new recipe of the week, but i’m not sure how to go about roasting the oatmeal. anybody have some pointers on how to go about it? the first thing that pops into my mind is spreading it out on a cookie sheet to roast it. is that totally off base?
Nope. That’s exactly how I would do it.
Yep. For an oatmeal stout I set my oven to 350F and spread them in a thin layer on a cookie sheet. After about 10 minutes I use a spatula to turn them and mix them up.

I spread em out and do em at about 325 turning every 15 minutes or so until they are golden brown and smell nutty.
I also usually try and do this about a week ahead of time to let them gas off anything
