I use whole blueberries, macerated in a mesh bag. I want the tannins from the skin. I know that doesn’t answer your question but, depending on your intention, that’s an option.
Also, small, wild blueberries=less juice, more flavor; large, cultivated blueberries=more juice, less flavor, generally speaking.
