Book Idea for Homebrewers

Hi all,

I have been looking for a book that describes the steps needed to make the same batch of beer that tastes the same each time.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

  1. Measure everything you can think of.
  2. Record those measurements every time.
  3. Mail me the $20 you saved. 8)

Seriously, standardize everything (ingredients, equipment, processes) and you should be fine. Beer isn’t all that complicated.

Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?

Practice.

;D

Pappazian, and Palmer both have good books to teach you how to make consistent beer. But, the only way to do it, is learn from the books, then, like the rest have said, get to brewing. A LOT! Once you learn your system, each batch will be consistent. No book can teach you how to use your system. You can give ten brewers the same recipe, and end up with ten different tasting beers, because each system is different. Learn yours, and learn it well, grasshopper.

Don’t forget proces on that system!
