Does anyone know the interior dimensions of the Danby Designer 4.4cf Compact All Refrigerator?
I checked the Danby website and there is no mention of them.
I guess nobody but homebrewers care about the interior dimensions.
Can’t say for sure if mines the same model as the designer your thinking of. I had to cut out the side rails where the shelving fits into and some of the door shelving. Then covered the the cutouts with ducting tape. Two ball lock cornys wouldn’t fit without doing this. I followed this video

I want to use the 'fridge to cold crash my lagers and lager them.
I use a 6 gal carboy to ferment my lagers which is approx. 20" high and 11" in diameter.
I’m trying to figure out if the carboy will fit without buying the 'fridge online and then, possibly, having to ship it back.
The picture on the Walmart website shows the interior shelves attaching to the back of the 'fridge, so might not have to remove any side rails.
I anticipated having to remove some of the door shelving.
IMHO, I would look for a used fridge online first. Unless space is an issue. I don’t think a carboy would fit top to bottom, there’s still the back ledge where the motor is. I’ll take picks for you later today of mine so you can get an idea.
I have not good news. :( I have the Danby all-refer that I bought thru Walmart a year ago for a two tap kegerator. Overall height inside is 29" and inside width is 17-1/2" but the depth at the bottom is only 10-1/2" due to the back ledge. From the top of the ledge the height is 20-1/2".
Add a collar to increase depth.
Dimensions: 28.5"x17.5. The back motor steps up ~7". I think your carboy would be a pretty tight fit “that’s what she said”. If your strictly using it for lagering carboys I think you might regret not going with a standard fridge or chest freezer down the road.
Philbrew, Juggabrew thanks for posting the interior dimensions. Sounds like my carboy would be a very tight fit, if it would fit at all since I’m assuming that the temp control at the top eats into that 20.5".
I do have a 'fridge I use as a fermentation chamber. Sometimes the lagers tie up that 'fridgelonger than I want and I can’t move onto brewing an ale.
Since I don’t really have room for another full size 'fridge (already have the one for a fermentation chamber and another that I converted to a keggerator) I was looking for a small unit to cold crash and lager in.
After cold crashing, I currently lager in a keg and it looks like I could easily do that in this unit.
How many kegs can u fit into the kegerator? I always lager in the keg using my kegerator and just live with one tap going if need be. Essentially I serve at lager temps, not sure how others do it but easy for me.
My keggerator holds 5 kegs and when there’s room I’ve been lagering in the it. But quite often there isn’t any room.
My goal is to get something, that doesn’t take up to much space, to make the process less hit or miss.
The Danby 'fridge is the closest I’ve come to this.
If you plan on lagering in a keg the Danby would be the best option. Plus you wouldn’t need to add a temp controller.
I am looking to make my first kegerator and looking to find the right refrigerator to do so. What is the model number of the one you have pictured here?

It’s actually cheaper now than when I bought mine early 2015. Shipped free with my prime. You do have to do the cut outs of the door and shelves to fit two ball lock cornies. I reused the wire racks that came with unit. I cut and zip tied them together to fit into my 5cu. Ft chest freezer so my fermenter is off the floor for air to move around. My heat pad sits under the racks. The only issue with the two kegs is it’s hard to adjust co2 with the tight fit.

Thank you both very much. Is it possible to get two 1/6 kegs in there, or one 1/6 keg and a corny?
Edit: Also, has anyone attempted to move the compressor back with this fridge to open up more space on the inside?
Can’t say, I don’t know the measurements of the 1/6 kegs. As long as they’re the same size as ball lock kegs should be fine.
The 1/6 kegs are about 1/4 inch wider than the Cornelius kegs.
1/6 keg: 9 1/4 inch
