dormant yeast?

This was my first time trying to lager my batches. (2) 5 gallon batches in and old fridge from the 40’s. The temp dropped down to near 30, have i made the yeast dormant? if i have how do i “wake” it up? also if i can’t what do i do in order to bottle condition? This is only my 3rd batch of homebrew so i may have tried this a bit too early.

any advise or questions are welcome. thanks in advance!!

All you need to do is warm it up again to about 50 F and swirl the fermenter or bottles to wake up the yeast again.  No big deal.

Yep, and make sure you pitch enough yeast. You need roughly 2Xs the amount of yeast for a lager as opposed to an ale.

thanks!! I’m working on the lager thing. I’ll have to rig it with a temp regulator to help solve that issue.
