I am trying to keep my fermentation temps. consistent. Is there any fermentation vessel (or any other way) that will allow me to watch the temp. of the brew on the inside not just put a stick on thermometer on the outside of the fermentor.
Thanks NAZZ
A stopper thermowell and a remote temperature probe will accomplish what you are trying to do. They also sell the same thing made to be used w/ carboy hoods.
Those stick on thermometers are amazingly accurate.
+1. I have a thermowell and I am amazed how spot on the stick on are. Even on my 42 gallon conical!
Thats great to know, I thought in the beginning when fermentation was at it’s most active it would not read as accurately. Thanks for the info
I just went out and checked mine again on my conical. The thermo strip read “range” 40-42 and the digital temp controller read 40. That is close enough for me. Before I got my thermowell I used them for several years with very good results. I say, use 'em and don’t sweat it, unless you are simply hankering for a new toy.
