Happy New Year everyone! Hope it’s a great one with time to brew. This was my New Year’s Eve lineup. What was yours?
That SoCal rain was glorious, wasn’t it? New Year’s Eve was a perfect night to stay in and sip on a holiday brew. I poured a clone/homage of St. Arnold Christmas Ale, which turned out spectacularly (picture below). I got to try the real thing at the taproom recently, which inspired me to make my own version. To cap the evening, my wife, her sister, and I also shared a bomber of Bottle Logic’s 2022 Leche Borracho (barrel-aged imperial stout with all sorts of spicy goodies). I don’t drink these kinds of beers very often, so it was a nice holiday treat.
Homebrew: Maple Bourbon Brown Ale, Mixed-Ferm Ale aged on plums, Mixed-Berry Mead, & Hibiscus Cider
Commercial: Virtue Cider’s Lapinette and brut champagne sparkling wine to toast the New Year.
I was drinking homebrew Rye IPA and Schwarzbier.
Sounds delicious!
