This was emailed out to all of us members awhile back. I made this beer with ingredients I had on-hand and it’s decidedly UN-GERMAN because of the way I made it but HO LEE COW is this beer amazing. I just put my version on tap tonight. 60/40 Pilsner/Munich 2. I only boil for 30 minutes so I probably adapted the hop schedule… it was at 30/20/10. The pilsner was Montana Craft, the Munich 2 was Bonlander, the hops were fresh Liberty from YVH and the yeast was 940. The water was Lake Michigan. NOT A GERMAN INGREDIENT IN THE BEER! I’ll snap a shot of it soon and post it in the picture thread. Has anyone else made it? Amazing and simple recipe.
No, haven’t made it.
Will be in Zoigelland in the fall.
That seems a lot like a Festbier recipe. Does it taste a lot different to you?
In the festbier I typically make, I only have one hop addition. The AHA recipe for this one had a 60-minute boil and I don’t remember what the times were but I made mine 30/20/10 and I used some nice Liberty that has been excellent here in other beers.
