Hello! I’m Chris, based in south Florida but lately I’ve been traveling a bit for work. I like to catch up on my brewing projects when I’m home for stretches at a time.
Right now I’ve got a guava melomel that’s been aging and ready to bottle when I return home next month. I’ve also got a few traditional meads on the docket using varietals I collect when I’m away. I’m also going to start branching out into beers soon, and I just ordered a kit for a Blue Moon dupe that I’m excited to crack in to.
When my work situation stabilizes and I’m home for more than a couple of months at a time, I do want to check out the local brewing community. But for now I’m just learning from small projects.
Hi Chris. I’m really new to this forum, also–like about three hours. I can see that I need to add my real life info as well as my name to my profile. This seems like a safe place to do so.I’ve been homebrewing since the 1980s. I have a close-knit group of friends who share the same interests in brewing, fishing, hunting, and all things NRA and USCCA related. I’m an RN with a doctorate in environmental management (go figure), have a private pilot’s license but don’t fly since I sold my airplane and can’t fly because I can’t pass the medical - but I miss it! Having fun fishing and brewing with my son who just retired from the USAF with the rank of Captain. It’s good to have him around after his being posted all over and not seeing him much. My daughter, her husband, and their three kids (our grandchildren) live close by. She’s an RN also, and she, the grandkids, and my wife are big-time into horses since my daughter worked off the money to buy her first horse with her 4H money (she raised a pig, one of four that we had, and sold it at the fair) and did chores for the owner to earn the rest of the money for her horse. Jeez, I just realized that I have been really been running off at the fingers. Sorry. I think I should copy this and save it for when I add a real name, info, picture etc. to my profile. I have a lot to figure out/learn about this forumn.
