Houston Beer and Breweries

I’ll be visiting Houston to this weekend (Thursday through Monday). My oldest son lives there and my youngest son, my father and me are all doing a road trip. Definitely going to check out Cafe Brussels.

Previously when I visited Houston I went to Karbach btewing. Meh, waaaay too many IPAs.

Anyway, I am looking for suggestions of at least one other brewery to visit. Preferably something that has a wide variety of beers–not a wide variety of IPAs.

We were in Houston a year or so ago … maybe two years now.

St. Arnold was solid if you like standard traditional styles.

Buffalo Bayou was good, but they appear to be permanently closed.

Café Brussels was good, too, but I was disappointed their only lambics were Lindemans sweet fruited ones.

I’m from Houston, so I can give my recs

St Arnold is the OG Houston brewery, lots of great beers and great variety. they have a pretty cool beer garden now too

True Anomaly has been making some great beers and usually come home with a medal or 2 from GABF

Equal Parts has also been making some solid beers recently

Great Heights is a personal fav of mine too

Thanks for the True Anomoly suggestion. It was very good and reminded me a little of my own little brewery. Tasty Belgians!

Headed to Cafe Brussels tonight!
