Hi there ladies and gents! After a 6 month or so hiatus (new baby) I am finally getting a brew in Monday. Is everyone using Pico Brew now or are people still using cooler mash tuns? ;D
I’ve decided to go with the ole’ Hop Fu recipe because I’ve got a ton of hops and it looks like a home run recipe. The hops I’m using for this have been all vacuum sealed and in the freezer for 5 months, any major freshness issues there?

anyway-double IPA? s-05 would be my choice. as far as hops-should be good.
Oh yeah. I was supposed to answer your questions. Your hips will be perfectly fine. I’m not a yeast expert and less of a dry yeast expert, but I’d roll the dice with the S05. During my hiatus, my uncle (we’re brew partners) wanted to brew a couple times. He has no experience with liquid yeasts and starters, because I always take care of that. I always keep an emergency pack of S05 around. I pulled it out of the fridge and realized it was about 40 days past date. He used it. The beer turned out nicely.

Nope. Glad you made it back so fast after the family addition. I know folks that dropped off for years after having kids.
I would imagine so. It was his wife that had the baby. I’m not sure if it was natural or c-section, though.

Not sure why my phone continues to autocorrect hops to hips since, being a homebrewer, every 11th word that I type on this thing is hops.
