Indiegogo 7.1 gallon Stainless Steel Fermenter

Well, it looks like the campaign found another backer this morning.  The campaign has eight days to go and nine more backers to find.

$633 to go with a little over six days left!

yeah it’s going to be close

The project is funded.  Now, we are going to witness the “pile on” effect.

If he had figured out how to flip that over and turn it into a conical then he could charge a lot more. I think it could be done by replacing the lid with a custom made cone that locked in place using the same locking mechanism. Maybe the bigger issue is figuring out how to make the bottom into the top of a conical.

I’m not sure I would trust that thing upside down with my beer in it

At any rate 108%… Glad it made it.  Glad I found it early and got 2 for $105 each as well :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Local pick up here in Cincinnati (edit, at my favorite LHBS Listermann’s) plus the fact that it is funded got me in! So much good stuff coming in the next couple months: BruGear 15 gallon pot in July, and now this fermenter in August. Cant wait to put them both into use!

I thought about doing the two-fer deal, but I really only need one primary fermentation vessel these days.  I still rack to a secondary if I do not have keg space within two weeks.

Good, you deserve it.  You did a fine job of raising awareness without going anywhere near shillville.  Thanks!

Agreed I would only use it as a primary due to the amount of headspace it would have at 7.1 gallons.

haha yeah I tried to be honest that I was just doing it all for selfish reasons  I needed a couple more fermenters.

Well… They came today… Heavy canisters… Seems like there may be some slag in the bottoms… Need to wash to be sure… Main bummer though is that one came crushed… Still waiting to hear back on it… Weep.

Bummer is right. How well were they packed? They will learn to pack properly quick style.

I picked mine up locally last night. It is definitely heavy. Some small metal shavings on the bottom inside. The weld between base and body is kinda ugly, hope it’s water tight. I would attach a photo, but mine looks just like your good one.

Box with quite a bit of bubble wrap around it… packaging seemed decent until I unwrapped all the bubble wrap and found that lol.  I’ll see what he’s willing to do… I know he ordered a few extras so maybe I’ll get a replacement… or maybe I’ll offer to try pounding it out for a partial refund… I dunno yet… only notified him a short time back so still waiting on a response to see what’s up.

I agree… I had the same thought… like is this going to leak… lol.  It is way heavier than my other stainless vessels.

I had some questions for hi earlier in the week and he got in touch via email within a few short hours. Good luck

an ugly weld in a sanitary application would make me nervous. is it smooth and seemless on the inside at least?

I have mine soaking in some soapy water now… it was hard for me to judge the weld without first cleaning because there seemed to be a lot of oils and stuff in there.

I have not washed mine yet, but the inside visually looked good with a cursory glance. I won’t be using mine for a couple weeks at least till I. Lear out some space, so I’m not in a rush to clean. Maybe I should be so I can contact Adam if there is an issue.
