Lifespan of Digital temp controller

One of my Johnson (blue) digital temp controllers seems to be acting a bit wonky as of today. I have it set for 57F to cool down to 55F. It just keeps flashing between ASD cycle and 57F reading. If it bump the temp up one degree the flashing stops but then the temps blink back and forth between 55F and 57F.  WTF?

Granted, I do brew a lot of beer and this controller has seen a ton of fermentations, but does anyone have any data points on how long one of these things last?

I am not 100% sure of how old it is, but I have owned at least 7 of these in my brewing days and never seen anything like this before. Just wondering if the controller itself might be going south. Thoughts from the crew?

Power surge/brown out kill it?

ASD is the Anti Short Cycle Delay. I’ve had this show up on mine once in a while but if left alone it cycles through and resumes functions.

set the ASD to 0 minutes then  set your temp  but then go back after that  make your  fridge turn on…Then  readjust it back to whatever time you want your compressor to cycle/ minutes.

I accidently turned mine off the other day and that fixes it…

No brown-outs or power surges…

But I will try this if it persists. Last night I swapped it out with another digital temp controller I have on my serving chest freezer. The wonky one got right to work no problem and last night the chest freezer one I put on my fermentation fridge also started working better.
Today when I get home from work, the display is reading 55F and then the fridge turned on?  WTF?  It should only turn on at 57F. Oh well, at least the beer is being cooled.  Weird though.
I may try that trick above.

Thanks all!  Love the forum…

Hope that works for u…  and yes the forum. " The people here are awesome"
