Just curious to see what people have to say about this hop. They are on NB for $.63/oz. so I grabbed a 5oz.
Has anybody used them? and if so what are your likes and dislikes about them. I couldn’t find much other than what the NB site said. "12.0-14.0%. Super-high alpha hop with an earthy, slightly resinous aroma—sometimes described as “new mown hay.”
I have never used them but they appear to mainly be recommended for bittering. I have always wanted to try Magnum for flavor/aroma additions but it sounds like a waste of hops. I wonder if this is a similar type of ‘bittering’ only hop…
Yeah that’s the only thing I would use them for. Maybe I will try an small patch SMaSH beer with them to see how they fair.
I betcha they are menthol!
