NHC Indy

Indianapolis results are posted… I had amazing beers entered, but I did not move on. Hats off to the brewers who are moving on in those categories!

Yeah, super tough categories with a lot of entries in each one! Out of five, I only got one through.  Old ale took a gold. I really thought I had some better chances this year, but at least one made it. Tough competition with lots of people making some great beer!

Congrats to all!

Yep… I had a Belgian Quad in and an American Porter. I’m anxious to see the score cards now.

No luck for me. Try again next year. Looking forward to scores.

Better keep that on the down low, Jon… People are going to quit taking excellent advice from you  :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah…Jimmy Buffett has never won an award for his music and people still listen to him

Cat’s out of the bag. I guess I’ll keep brewing anyway.

Also, kudos to all who advanced. There were over 700 entries here, roughly as many as for the entire Indiana Brewers Cup last year. It’s great for the hobby.

Struck out again. Thought a British BW had a chance.

Susan stewarded, I judged, all the sessions. It was a pretty good weekend. The event was really well run, so my hats off to the team that organized this round.

I entered in Nashville. I thought I’d have a better chance since all of you were hanging in Indy. So many good Brewers!

My saison won a silver (19D). First time for me winning anything in this competition. Thanks to all who judged and volunteered!

Well done.

I struck out also. The competition is tough because all four of my entries were solid. Congrats to all who advanced.

Yeah, I agree.  Besides having 3 of my entries only having one bottle for judging (stupid UPS), mine were all pretty solid too.  Really tough region.

Yeah, my entries were all really solid, too. Just a tough, popular region evidently. Really curious to see the sheets.

Does anyone know when and how scores will be revealed?  My recollection is that they were actually posted on the competition site before we received the judging sheets but I can’t really remember.  Thx

0/3 beers. Will wait to see scores but hard not to be super disappointed.

Some regions got sheets before scores showed up online, others online first; depends on how fast they are mailed

I normally go through the Minneapolis region. But, I went through Indy since it is my home town. They also say that the Minneapolis region is tough. I think because everybody brings their A game in all the regions. I know that’s my thinking.

Willing to share that recipe?  I did not submit my old ale this year as I don’t think it quite fits the style well enough to medal.

Sure thing.  It have brewed several iterations of it with all scoring well and medaling in comps. This is my latest version with an emphasis on extra depth of malt character requested by various judges at various comps.
