NHC Thursday night?

With the Brewing Network Anniversary Party on Wednesday, and there being no Pro-Night, does anyone know of any Thursday night events for the NHC?

The welcome reception on Thur. IS pro night.

Sure looks that way to me. It goes to 11!

From the link.
Thursday, June 11 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm Welcome Reception & Toast featuring BA member breweries

I hope the Welcome Reception is better than last year…but that may have had something to do with Michigan laws.  The beer was poured by convention staff that knew nothing about the beer and a lot of the brewers and brewery staff were absent.

Thankfully the BN did their party that night so it was a good night.

I heard that was because of MI law. Yeah, it seemed sterile.

I’m going to try to get to the Welcome Reception but I’m like a kid in a toy shop when over there. I’ll play it by ear.

I heard Gary glass give an interview saying that the welcome reception will be outdoor with numerous breweries serving kinda festival style and club night will be the same style. Wish I was going.

Sounds great. Looking forward to it!

Yeah, me too. Maybe next year.

OK…for us poor saps who can’t make it this year, what’s the rumor for next year?  I’ll buy a beer for the first person to answer correctly at Club Night (Copyright Drew Beechum 2014  )

Not to be pedantic and stuff, but you’re missing a few years from that copyright. I believe I used it during my second campaign (and first successful election) to the GC in 2008.

As for rumored locations - I haven’t heard any rumors, so I’m not starting them except to say that the plan is still to have the conference bounce around the country into different regions.

Wish you were, too.  You’d love it.

Last I heard there were tix still available. Everyone on this thread should go!

Ok…fixed it for you and I went back a few years just to make sure I got it covered.

As for NHC2016, thanks anyways…I guess I really on need to wait a few more weeks to find out for sure.

So stoked for this! I’ll be there Wednesday night for BNA, reception Thursday. Are there gong to be any meet ups?

a reasonable question might be, will we know '16 location, at '15 NHC?

I am trying to remember if the next years conference time and dates were not announced at NHC. If Gary Glass has the signed contract, it is announced.

I think Gary announced San Diego at an event in February last year and it spread like wildfire.  I know they like to do a presentation with the next year’s committee members at the banquet.  This is what makes me think they will know by then at the latest.  But I guess it could be delayed if there were contract issues.

It was mentioned a while before and tentatively confirmed at NHC.  From what I recall, there were still a couple of questions on the laws at the time that are apparently resolved.

The request for participation to the California breweries went out on the Brewers Association forum today. The request requires that the breweries have a California presence and they receive several tickets to attend the event so that they are more likely to send knowledgible staff. The request specifically tells the breweries that we homebrewers are beer savvy and we like to talk with their staff about beer.

This will not be a repeat of the neutered brewery participation that Michigan made us do.

As mentioned, there are still openings to attend the convention and it is shaping up to be a great event. Make your plans now!
