Northern Brewer Customer Service

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to post this up here. For my birthday this year I got the Deluxe kit from Northern Brewer. (Deluxe Homebrew Starter Kit) When I opened the jumbo box it all came in, one of the carboys was totally jammed in the bottling bucket. I tried everything to get it out but the bucket was totally deformed from it. Kind of bummed out I shot an e-mail over to Northern Brewer to let them know about the problem.

I worked with Mike W and he was totally awesome.

Long story short, they are send a replacement for both (including a blowoff hose which was crammed under the carboy in the bucket). No shipping back to them, no hassle, no problem.

I use to work in customer service and really value when a company “gets it.” Northern Brewer totally gets how to treat customers with a problem.

Now I’m just waiting for the UPS guy

I’ve had the same results from not only NB, but every major online homebrew retailer. I’ve had to contact customer service from NB. Midwest, Austin Homebrew Supply, Rebel Brewer and Yakima Valley Hops for one matter or another over the years, and every single interaction has exceeded my expectations. I’m happy to say that the major players in the homebrew industry all seem to “get it” when it comes to customer service.

Which is why Brewmaster’s Warehouse is no longer around.

Included in the great list are Nikobrew and Farmhouse Brewing Supply.

I, too, have had great service from NB as well as Williams Brewing.

It’s always nice when the customer service person is helpful and reasonable and clearly not in a call center in a foreign country.

I have never had to utilize their customer service but this is good to hear.

I have had to utilize B3 customer service a few times and they have been very helpful.

I bought a temperature controller from them and it died on me.  I called them, they sent me another.  No problem!!  Excellent customer service!

Quite a few years ago I bought a mash tun from Williams that included a 7 gallon bucket with a false bottom that’s held in place by a plastic wing nut. They stopped selling them several years ago and last year when I e-mailed them to find out if they knew where I could get replacement wing nuts one of their guys scrounged around and found two and mailed them to me no charge.

One of the reason I switched from Tracphone  was the ordeal of trying to deal with people who could barely speak English. It wouldn’t have been too bad except I constantly needed customer service.

Another satisfied customer from northern as well.

Ditto

I have heard NB has very good customer service.

However, I have zero trust in the parent company (for NB & Midwest) to keep my credit card information secure. I don’t like playing the burn me once/shame game when it comes to my finances. Midwest’s shoddy practices burned me.

Love me some AiH!  8)

I’ve used NB Customer Service a cpl times. Not bad at all.

Another upvote for NB from me. I used them for about 8 years before a local homebrew supply opened up in the area. Customer service was always top notch.

I too had a recent problem with a N.B. order - they were quick to respond and addressed the issue immediately to my satisfaction.
