Not clear beer

It sucks when you go out to the kegerator in your mind your thinking I can’t wait for a glass of…

And the keg kicks!

It looks nasty. But you bet your A$& I’m drinking it.

Yeah, worst thing ever.

I am completely out of homebrew. I designed my system to run out periodically so that I can make room for commercial beer. But, it hurts when it actually happens.

I had a similar moment last weekend when my American stout blew - really enjoyed that one. I need to get my reserves built back up now, too. I have a couple others on tap and one finishing up in the fermenter and that’s it. I think time is freed up to brew a bunch coming up.

I have some beer in the pipeline, so I tend to look forward to a keg blowing - definitely mixed emotions on the great ones, though.

yeah that hurts. i’ve been brewing almost weekly for awhile now and have 3-4 more lagers in the schedule and cream ale and stout.

I have 4 brew sessions planned weekly starting this Friday. This time of year it is cool enough to ferment on my bench in the basement.

I’m new to kegging and recently discovered that pain.

Must be a trend.  My American Porter blew yesterday.  :frowning:

My pale ale blew last night! Luckily I have more in the fermenter that should be even better.

When I start to hear the “gushing” sound in the keg, I stop pouring in hopes of that final glass being awesome and CLEAR!

(doesn’t always work though)

Same here. It’s a crap shoot !

Its not so bad if it happens when you start to pull a pint but really sucks when the pint is close to full and then you get that big blast, screws up the pour AND gives you a bath!
