Ommegang

I am so impressed with each Ommegang beer that I try.  I can’t give this brewery enough credit.  AMAZING.

“Three Philosophers” may be one of the best beers I’ve ever had.  Rare Vos and Abbey Ale are up there also.

I wish I could, but the styles don’t do it for me.  Hennepin is OK, but I’m not a big saison fan.  Their abbey ale is pretty good though.

I liked the Hennepin and thought the Abbey was pretty good too. I was pleasantly surprised with their Witte. They are a first class operation AFAIAC.

I had a hankering for Three Philosophers.  Grabbed one last night.  Man that was good.  Wish I had gotten a few, it really hit the spot.

I find that I often take Ommegang for granted because it is one excellent brewery that is readily available.  I am always on the lookout for something I cannot usually get.  But I inevitably enjoy their beers greatly.  I always think, “I’ll buy a few of each and cellar them” but rarely do.

On that note I will say I tend to enjoy their beers even more with some age on them.  First time I had some Ommegang it was some long neglected bottles marked down for clearance.

I’m a big fan of all their beers EXCEPT the Witte. Compared to other Wits I’ve had, it is watery and lifeless. To end on a high note, Hennepin and Rare Vos are two of my favorites.

Wow…I just can’t get on board with Belgians yet. I had a botle oh Three Philosophers. Took one drink, hen dumped the rest. I still have half a bottle of Hennipen in the fridge. Anyone who likes is welcome o come pick it up.

I just cried a little.

I just cried a LOT!

oh the HORROR!!!

I cried too. At my first sip. Then I threw up in my mouth a little.

Did you relocate to Idaho yet?

I think you just might have committed a crime against high art :frowning:

Not yet. But I guess one good thing about moving there is it puts that much farther away from Cooperstown NY!  ;D

To each his own!

Someday, you may (hopefully) eat your words.  ::slight_smile:

I used to rail on ALL Tripels, Belgian golden strongs, Belgian blond ales, and Saisons.

Now, I can’t get enough!

Tastes do change…  I have experienced many taste changes personally.

Yep, to each their own.  That leaves more for the rest of us.  ;D
