Have you tried WY3944? If not, I highly recommend it.
I haven’t tried that yet - thank you for the rec. I’m down here in SoCal, so White Labs tends to be my default liquid yeast. But, I’m always willing to invest in shipping for something that provides a unique wrinkle on the recipe. I do need to explore more Belgian wit strains!
I’m certainly no expert on wit yeast, but I got good results with that one. You should at least give it a try.
Ukrainian Golden Ale from the May/June issue of Zymurgy. This turned out a lot better than anticipated. Full bodied, semi-dry, slightly sweet and a nice citrus touch from the coriander.
Freshly tapped
(REL TO USA, GBR, NZL) Nectaron Best Bitter
Yes it cloudy as the beer is very lively
Single hop beer
Big pineapple strawberry and citrus aroma and flavors. I like the 1968 Nectaron combo. Very impressed with this NZ hop
Nectaron is such a great hop! I did a saison with it last year, and the hop character was killer
Just tapped my El Dorado/Amarillo Best Bitter
Not getting a whole lot of hop aroma and big hop flavor as I was expecting.
Nice summer beer nevertheless
Beautiful beer.
Any thoughts as to why the hops seemed to come up short? Hops have always been the great brewing mystery to me.
WLP007
its about 94% simpsons maris otter, 3% each simpsons brown, 3% crystal 120 and 1% simpsons chocolate malt
2oz of EKG hops near the end and ~40 IBU
4.8% ABV and the colour is likely slightly lighter than this pic in fact.
its the dangerous combination of roast and hoppiness, but i decided to try it and it tastes quite good, though as always it will be a few weeks for that brown malt to lose its sharpness.
That is a great question. I simply have no idea. I did the exact same regiment with my MegaMosaic and the hop aroma and flavor blew me away. Now I was not expecting the same as the hops are different but I was expecting some aroma and flavors
