Ok, must be the lighting then cause I see the pils as darker golden and the Dort as light amber.
Realizing how interesting it is to taste and observe these beers side by side in the sampler glasses. The mineral aspects of the dort really pop and stand out in comparison after taking sip of the Pils . I also realize how pale yellow the Pils really is.
Since these are 5oz tasters, do you find both of them to be too dark for the style?
Neither- Pils is pale yellow and dort is what I want for Dort gold.

could be the black granite and lighting. . pretty light straw yellow2-3 srm.
Thanks guys ! Gonna brew more lagers this year.
Same here for this year. I had plans to have several finished already. Getting ready to brew binge 4 days in a row, 14th-18th.
It’s funny…those glasses look huge…only about 5 oz

Been there, done that, STILL do it. haha. That’s like Mitch Hedberg, “I used to do drugs, I still do, but I used to, too”.

For a reference, here is my Pils and Dort in .5l mugs, with a dark table behind it. These beers are in the mid 6ebc(mid 3srm). Your pils is lighter than those?
Same at least, yes
So like that?
Have another picture?
Sure lots. You must have a cryptic point to your srm discussion… So just lay it out there.
??? Ńot that color between 2-5 srm matters for this style, but what am I missing in our beers side by side?

The pils is on the left, and you are comparing your small glass to my .5l mug, but I guess that doesn’t matter. I am sure its super tasty…prost.

Cool. Yeah can’t imagine someone saying" your 3 srm beer tastes better than that 4 srm beer".
One photo was taken with natural light, the other with artificial light. I’d chalk up any slight difference in the photos, if you’re looking for that exact of a representation it’s an apples to oranges comparison.
Just curious…how old are thos beers, any gelatin?

He doesn’t gel fine.
I usually shoot for 4srm for most of my light lagers, maybe closer to 5 for an export, but I don’t worry much about it.
Pete was kind enought to share some of his most excellent mead:melomel. this is the mixed berry. all i can say is wow… ive got some work to do to achieve this quality. the honey and berry smell are fantastic. its blended and melded together so perfectly. very smooth. i could drink this every night. thanks so much Pete!
