Random receipe

I have a lot of random ingredients laying around and am gonna throw something together. I have 10lbs of 2 row 5 lbs of light wheat and 8 oz of crystal 60. I was thinking of using all of it and making a ipa. I have 3 oz of el dorado and was thinking 1.5 oz at 60 1 oz at 15 and .5 oz at 1 I also have .5 ounce of chinook simcoe and centennial I would add at 1 min also. Any inputs or ideas? Also the yeast would be a culture of wlp California ale.

I think you would need more hops to make a good American IPA. What about a Pale Ale instead?

95% Two row
5% crystal 60

1.5 oz el dorado 20 min
1.5 oz el dorado 5 min
dry hop with the centennial, simcoe, chinook

That would be a pretty brutal pale ale the el dorados I have are 15.5% aa. Could work though. Maybe omit the wheat and throw the biscuit in there too

I don’t know about the light wheat, but use the rest of the grain. As far as hops go, I’d go something like this:

FW - 1/2 oz chinook, simcoe, and centennial
0 minute/hopstand(30-45 min) - 3 oz El Dorado

I think that would stretch your hop bitterness/flavor/aroma the furthest. I don’t think it will be quite an IPA, but it would be APAish

You’re right. The IBUs would push into the mid 50s. I would move the amounts to later in the boil to achieve the amount of IBUs you desire. I have really been enjoying APAs with traditional bittering times.

So probably 10#'s 2 row 1# biscuit 8oz crystal 60. Then the random hops at 60. 2 ounces of el dorado at 1 min. And dry hop the last ounce. Would still be fairly high ibu wise but sounds decent.
