Sugar Creek

Did a search on this forum for Sugar Creek, and it’s not working.
Sugar Creek has been mentioned favorably here, received 10 lbs
Vienna, and 10 lbs Munich today (milled).

Try this in Google:

site:https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/ sugar creek

…or put sugar creek in quotes if it finds things with just sugar or creek (one without the other).

The site part limits the search to just the AHA forum.

Let us know how your beers turn out! I’m a big fan of their Ye Olde Pale Ale malt. I brew a fair amount of English ales, and it has that nutty, toasty, graham crackery character that I really enjoy in a base malt for those styles.

I’ll try to remember the best I can.
Due to brewing schedule, first taste will
be about 2 months from now. Loaded up
on Novalager, will be the yeast used for next
10 batches.

Their Pilsner Malt is very good. Great Fermanations has most of their malt.

Last Drop Mar/Apr this year is about brewing local in Indiana with Sugar Creek malts.

Good to know, thanks.
Didn’t know where to order so I ordered directly from them.

A couple days ago 100% Sugar Creek Vienna was used.
During the boil the hot break was non stop, tons of it.
Pitched one Novalager, next morning almost nothing.
I use an open bucket to start with so activity could been seen, a little bubbling, swirling.
Not any real krausen can be seen, just barely a very thin layer of small bubbles.
Pitched another Novalager, next morning same thing.  At this stage at least a little
krausen is seen with batches.  Did the double drop thingy, dumped in fermenter with airlock.
Tilt is already in use for another batch that was quickly done due to the DME batched
being dumped, so gravity is a mystery.
