Indiana craft maltster

Yesterday I got the ingredients for an all Indiana grown ingredients batch from Great Fermentations.

I’ve done that with all PA ingredients.  Malt and Hops (and water  ;D).  I should have used Imperial Yeast however.

If you pitch a yeast slurry you can call that locally grown

I like Sugar Creek malt I’ve used: 2Row, Pilsner, Amanda White Corn, Bloody Butcher Corn and like them all. Have some Sugar Barrel Aged Chocolate Malt that I want to use soon.

I have been wanting to try Sugar Creek. I am planning a Helles that I want to try their Pils and Munich in.  I’ve noticed they don’t stock the Vienna [emoji2369]

This sounds perfect for my planned Bourbon Barrel Oat Stout.

Where do you get hops grown in PA ?

Thanks

A few years ago, I picked up some pellet Cascade from Lion Bines in Mechanicsburg.  Unfortunately, I don’t think they are still in business as their website hasn’t been updated in quite some time.  Not sure though.  There are more hop farms in PA than you would think, though not many are selling in homebrew-friendly quantities.
