Talk me into brewing Saturday morning

Should make for an interesting “What’s Brewing This Weekend” post…

Ok, what’s the girlfriend look like?  You go ahead and brew and I’ll take care of the GF

Hmmm new girlfriend won’t understand the difference extract and all grain? Doesn’t sound like a keeper to me. :-\

Hell if I’d just gone through a messy deevorce then a GF that doesn’t like/understand my brewing would be on the curb toot sweet.

You are a free agent. My first thought to the OP was “get drunk!”

Agreed.  I’d think she’d have to understand that you have interests.  Many people I meet these days don’t have any and it saddens me.

Hehehe, you’ve struck a fundamental difference between wives and girlfriends.  A wife would see/appreciate the difference in ingredients cost!

I’ve been trying to convince myself to brew for weeks…probably months now.  Going to try to finally do a batch tomorrow…

;D

If you really want to brew and see the girlfriend then you could follow my schedule during my coaching seasons.

  1. Get propane on way home from work
  2. Put kids to bed.at normal time
  3. prep equipment
  4. get whatever sleep you can before 3AM
  5. Start brew day at 3AM
  6. Rack beer into fermentor around 6:30 - 7:00
  7. Feed kids breakfast

Enjoy the rest of your, about to be very long, day.  Sleep is way over rated.

He’s never brewed a batch while he was dating her - if she’s never brewed herself and never dated a brewer, why would she know the difference between extract and AG?

There’s a difference between “doesn’t understand [the process of] my brewing” and “doesn’t understand [why she should be at all interested or why I am interested in] my brewing”.  I took it to mean she might not understand why he thinks all-grain is worth the extra effort, which he’d need to explain.

If she doesn’t like him brewing then yeah, she can go find someone else.

To be honest, you can probably pull this off, in an evening.
I had my shortest brew session ever, a few weeks back.
I believe I put my son to bed at shortly after 7:30…Mashed in, first…Read him a story…Done with clean-up, before midnight.

^^^^this. I did the same thing last friday. Okay so it was more like 1 am when I pitched yeast and I finished clean up the next day but it worked out.

that’s right. i haven’t slept in 20 years and I’m… fine. (well okay that’s a total lie. But i havn’t slept more than about 5 hours a night average for the last year and I am almost fine. hardly delirious at… sorry for the pause, had to get rid of the pink elephants that keep picking my pocket… all)

sounds like a biab night. i mean sort of different though in that i would encourage you to make sure you have your equipment in an appropriate bag before you mash in… ;D

Or, take a look at her equipment tonight, and brew in the morning! Gotta spend time with the GF. Do what Iused to, and see if you can pull a late night batch.

so are you brewing? or are you ‘brewing’!?

I think pictures or video  are in order.

No frickin’ way, dude!  I LOVE sleep.  I’d sleep 10 hours a night if I could, but typically get 7-8.  The dream world is so much better than reality.

Take the blue pill.

Appease the GF make sure she gives your junk the OK and take care of the kids this weekend. Call in sick all next week and brew like a mother for the whole week.

Well, what did you do?  Closure Man, we need closure…

I don’t think I’ve ever heard it phrased quite like that.
