I’d stick build it. If you want that corner door the most important thing would be to create a beam support to the corner which wouldn’t sag. If the roof materials are kept light it wouldn’t have to be that dramatic.
Because here, that stuff is hard to procure initially and hard on the maintenance budget. Industrial’s also helluva lot easier to keep clean and working… unfortunately.
I’m not kidding, I have been rubbing my chin and looking at a corner of my yard. I even emailed the company that sells the kit and asked if they shipped them to the US. No answer yet. It’s very cool looking and I feel like I have the ability to do some cool things with it. That section of the yard (miraculously) is covered by a new wifi system I put in place and I have access to electric although I would probably play with using low voltage lighting (I have a big LV system in the backyard and it’s already right in that spot. But maybe you want a fridge back there and a TV and maybe even one of those in-room air-conditioners for when it’s hot out. I dunno… I feel like building it would be really cool.
Your too kind, Big Monk. I consider myself ‘mildly handy’ but if I see something about a project that I either can’t do or I think it won’t come out right, I consult a professional. I think I could build that thing from the kit but sourcing raw materials… might be too much.
My wife wanted a greenhouse she-shed. I built a deck for it, put the greenhouse together and even threw in some low-voltage lighting…
But that was relatively simple and the greenhouse itself was easy as long as I followed the directions. Maybe I’ll just reclaim the greenhouse and turn that into an English Pub.
Well, I couldn’t help myself. I made an English Pub out of my small shed in the backyard. I have been noodling with this since I first saw those pictures.
Clearly if anyone made a pub from their current shed, the yard would be littered with a lawnmower, grills, charcoal, rakes, brooms, flower pots, etc. and our wives would be PEEVED!
The base was old deck boards from our deck renovation. The storage kit went up in a few hours with ease. It would make a great gathering place if it wasn’t filled with stuff.
