This is Belgium

I love cliches. Cheers!

Ah the best glassware around!

Screw the glassware…WAFFLES!

How do you keep the oxygen out of your waffles? I looked on lowoxygenwaffles.com and couldn’t find much help.

It’s obvious you know nothing about waffles. Actually they were my girlfriend’s. But they were so light and crisp that I’m coming back tomorrow. Best ever.

On my first day in Belgium, I decided on waffles for a late morning meal. I asked the waitress what beer would go good with waffles. She said she didn’t know but the person at the next table suggested a Westmalle Dubbel. He was right–the dubbel went well with the waffles. And I discovered what Westmalle Dubbel actually tasted like when fresh.

It’s actually completely uncommon to drink beer with waffles. The photo was a bit tongue in cheek.

True. they go with cigars.

No they go with chicken.

And here stupid me just thought “syrup”.

Just another tourist, I guess.

Still good.

I’m starting to hyperventilate here. NO SYRUP!

Ha! Thought that one would get you when you saw it.  :o

lol…couldn’t resist could ya?

Nice! Love that movie…

Riiiiight? WTF?

haha, I really have nothing to add to this thread other than - badass picture! Could go for a waffle (with syrup) and a Westmalle Dubbel. Although I picked up a cold over the weekend, so I guess it’s either no beer or something hoppy to cut through the stuffiness.

You can eat a Belgian waffle -crisp and light as a feather, not some chewy brick -with sprinkled white sugar, butter, or whipped cream. Nothing else. And if you be good boys and do that, then maybe, MAYBE, I will allow you to drink a dubbel with it.

Good question.  I use an all-copper waffle iron.  Maybe that is why my waffles aren’t as malty as the ones at the iHop?  ???

Priceless

Peanut butter?

Hahaha! Peanut butter, Apple butter, strawberry preserves?

No! A great waffle only needs sweet cream butter and powdered sugar.

This really hurts. I liked it better when you were not active on the forum :frowning:
