Twilight Zone

I was spaced out and thinking of everything but what I was doing.
Spilled about 1/4 to 1/2 of W-34/70 in garbage while cutting yeast packet.
Had an extra packet of US-05 and pitched into 4.25 gallon wort.

Never mixed yeasts, from what I can tell no big deal ?

Nope, not really.  Hard to tell which will dominate but you’ll make beer

Can’t see why there would be any problem here. As Denny says, just can’t know ahead of time which yeast will be more dominant. I’ve purposely pitched two yeasts into batches with the goal of getting a blend of yeast character or possibly “toning down” a yeast with more pronounced character. Granted when I’ve done this it’s been blind - just guessing at what the end result might be as far as attenuation, final flavor, etc. Haven’t been unhappy with the results. I made good beer.

Thought so.
I’m a little pissed because it was a test to compare
W-34/70 and S-04 in identical batches.

Lesson learned, always keep spare yeast on hand.

Thanks
