Help!!!
I just tasted a mead I made about 3-4 months ago and has been in a keg with co2 on it.
It tasted like a band aid .
Whats wrong ? I know its still very young to drink but I thought it would have a better flavor than this ???
Typically that indicates some time of contaminating organism in your fermentation. Possibly too high fermentation temperatures. I would definitely try to see if it ages out, but I think it’s a dumper.
I was afraid you would say that.
I actually have 2 kegs >:(
will dump one ande keep checking the other, Thanks
Mead’s a weird beast.
Definitely give it some more time - I’ve had some meads that tasted awful young and then just pulled it together.
“Band-aid” character suggests chlorophenols.
Did you use chlorine (or choramine-free) water?
Was bleach part of your cleaning or sanitizing regimen?
