Again, no brewing for me, but I may start moving brewing equipment over to the new house!
No brewing this week…so there’s no excuse for me not to finish the kegerator.
Fingers and toes crossed
Good luck, Drew! My godson is coming down from Seattle to see what brewing’s all about. Gonna do Rye IPA.
ballanine ipa and something sour. Got my east coast yeast slurries in the mail last week (old newark and a couple bugfarm IV’s)
Need to rack a biere de garde and start lagering, but it’s taking forever. Also need to rack my standard cider and make a new england style cider to pitch on the yeast.
Sooper busy weekend though. I don’t know how I am going to fit it all in.
I am planning to brew a Mc Chouffe clone if anyone will give me some input on my recipe post.
I just got my new 14 gallon conical fermentor and I HAVE to put something in it.
Also, Saturday is the group apple pressing so I will be getting 5 gallons of juice to make cider.
Ryang, is that supposed to be Balantine IPA? If so, have you made it before? I’ve been wanting to do as close to a clone as I can and have been researching a recipe for a while… you got a recipe you’re willing to share?! thx,
It will be about time to dry hop my IPA with some citra and centennial
My wife’s off to visit her mother this weekend so I’m going a bit nuts: bottling a DIPA, brewing a rye stout, an APA, and possibly a bitter. That’s all if our recently adopted kittens don’t distract me too much. Am I crazy for naming one Fuggles?
Brewing another Bohemian Dark Beer.
I would like to be close to desired recipe now.
I have been brewing the same two beers for over 5 months now.
I have the apartment to myself all weekend so I am brewing at least once. Haven’t put my finger on what I’m brewing yet. I tried Full Sail Wassail this week and was surprised by how much I liked it, so I could go in that direction. Could also roast some local pumpkin, toast some oats. whatever… I guess I’m in an autumn state of mind.
whoops, yeah kinda missed the t on that one.
I haven’t made one before, but by many accounts, this http://www.brewboard.com/index.php?showtopic=3436&hl=ballantine%20ipa&st=0 recipe is rather close. There is a lot of history on Ballantine out there and you can find a fair number of “clone” recipes, but in the end, who really knows? More of an attempt at an emulation.
Thats basically the recipe I"m going to use, good to know, thx
This should give you a good idea of what I’ll be doing this weekend . . . ;D
That is a project on my hit list for next year so I’ll be interested in your design assuming it’s what I think it is.
No brewing for me this weekend - but it’s Cleveland Beer Week, so there’s plenty to do. I’ll be judging at our club’s contest tomorrow and Saturday: Brewzilla
Bottling my ESB and getting an early (2 week in bottle) taste of my Oatmeal Stout, but no brewing this weekend. I have too much homework to do (See what going back to school gets you Drew.)
Luckily my midterms have just come to an end. I brewed last night! I would like to brew this weekend, but most of my equipment is 120 miles away and I would have to buy a new fermentor to do another one… I have considered it though! Since the semester started I have only brewed 2 beers. My “To Brew” list is getting far too long.
St. Paul Sweetie (milk stout)- Sweet potato pils
- Cream ale
- Brown ale
- Old ale (AG version of an extract I did in '08)
- Vegabond Gingr (Papazian recipe)
Methinks our cat abandoned us this evening…been a house cat all it’s life and tonite…apparently well hidden or GONE… ???
I need to brew as supplies of ready to drink beers are dwindling. I have a keg of saison on deck and a kriek and apa on tap
that are getting low. I got all the ingredients now including some hopdirect hops …something golden with some cluster and
sterling…seems interesting…methinks about making a batch of franken beer…after all it is almost halloween. :o
Undoubtedly I’ll be pressing more apple juice this weekend at the community orchard, meaning more cider.
And I plan to brew a Fuller’s London Porter Clone.
Still haven’t found the time to do the turbid mash for the lambic…
I still have to bottle/keg my Porter. And brew another IPA.
So an IPA then.
