What's Brewing this Weekend - 3/4 Edition

I hope I did!  I didn’t see the bids, it was a silent auction.  But it should be a good time, introducing someone to the hobby.  Hopefully they’ll love it.

A Belgian Tripel is next on the docket, just have to grab some dried chamomile from a nearby health food store.  Still waiting on my special order yeast for the Ginger Saison I’m planning, I’m bummed that it hasn’t arrived yet. :frowning:

Bottling Northern English Brown, Sweet Stout and maybe a barleywine if it is ready. Looking for suggestions for the Ringwood cake from the brown ale? I’ve done porters on it, but I was looking for others suggetsions. I started a “Ringwood?” post in the Yeast boards…

For me its the Brew Your Cask Off  competition at Sweet Water  Brewery in Atlanta Ga.
My brew club got invited to have a 4 man team brew a beer.
80 different teams plus all of Sweet Waters beers!
We went with a Choc Raspberry Porter w/ a pepper finish
So lots off Beer to sample
already have a DD cuz we will be slant eyed :o

Working all weekend  >:(  I was hoping to have some time next weekend for some brewing but it appears as though we’ll be heading back to the wife’s place to visit the family…Maybe in april.

Well instead of Vienna Lager I brew another Bohemian Pilsner.

That might make you our in-house expert on Bo-Pils.  8)

I brewed a dry stout and put my maibock into a fining keg.

I got my special bitters in the fermenters, now I’m about to sparge my robust porter.  Half of it will be a vanilla porter, half will be coffee porter once it’s in the kegs.

No brewing.  Bottled BVIP and kegged an all dark Munich alt.  Preliminary tasting is very good.  We’ll see how it is after aging and carbonation.  Next up is helles or raspberry wit with frozen berries from last years fall crop.

Woooeeyy, for the first time ever, today I wrote in my notes:  transferred to keg

I am pleased.

Got the grains crushed, hops and salts measured, yeast starter in the fridge for a day-off brew tomorrow.  Looking forward to it.  Only thing I’m wavering on is setting up the brewery in the garage tonight since it’s still pouring outside.  That might have to happen tomorrow morning after the kids get dropped off at daycare.

WooHoo!  I won a $100 gift certificate at my LHBS for best homebrew keg yesterday at the Brewers’ Ball!

Nice, congrats!

WooHoo is right!  Congrats man!  Cheers!!!

Did a BoPils today using a decoction for the first time.  I was only planning on doing a single from sacch rest to mashout but didn’t quite get to my sacch rest temp from the protein rest so I did a small one to bump up the temp.  Pretty easy.

Congrats!  8)

Thinking about brewing an Amber ale this weekend, been a while since I’ve brewed one.

Bottling a Pale Ale probably thursday, and brewing a Rye IPA with centennial, cascade, and amarillo hops, and Old Newark Ale yeast.  Need to get cracking on the brewing, because I plan on using this batch for the groomsmen at my wedding.  I’m only doing a 2.5 gallon batch for now.  Of course, if it’s good, I’m going to want to drink it.  So i’ll probably have to make another one.
