What's Brewing This Weekend - 6/15 Edition

Bottling my Belgian Brunette with Blonde Highlights.

Brewed a nice American-Style Kolsch on Wed.  This time I used Wyeast 2575 for the first time.  It should be wonderful.  One of my favorites.

I like the mental photo of this description.  Thanks.

Unfortunately no brewing for me. My wife and daughter have something they consider “more fun” than brewing… I will be kegging and bottleing 5 gallons each of an Am. Amber Ale.

No brewing this weekend; getting together with a few club members to put the final touches on a batch of mo-mead-o and doing wash so I have clean clothes at the NHC.

Made a starter of Wyeast London Ale III last night.  I’m thinking a summer ale first, to build up enough yeast to brew a big version of Poor Richard’s Ale with spruce tips from the Colorado blue spruce in my back yard next week.

I think it is time to get an oktoberfest rolling this weekend.  dussledorf in a few weeks.

5.5 gallons of IPA. Just starting to boil now.

No brewing but this reminds me that I have an O-fest in the primary downstairs from last weekend.  I should probably check on that.  ???

Other than that I’ll be trimming the trees.  Too many are hanging low or getting into the neighbors ornamentals.

Brewing up a batch of Amber tonight!

And just because it’s summer and the pace of my work life is much saner, I zipped to the homebrew store yesterday afternoon, mashed last night while making dinner, brewed early today, and had the carboy filled with RyePA in time to get to church (me, not the beer). I would call it “Denny’s” rye IPA except I cheated and used US05.

1408 just bottled (a scottish 70) 1408 is the tail number of the coast guard helicopter that my wife’s uncle flew during the SF earthquake of 1989.  halfway through the boil of my oktoberfest.  yes, used the new electric kettle works great

Made a blonde for a late summer ale.

Parti-gyle == NEVER AGAIN! OMG! What a long day. Other than my mash pH (thanks Martin!) everything else sucked. Efficiency was crap. Had to add DME to both beers. UGH
