Thanks for the info, I’ll contact the orchard and see when their best stuff will be available. I kind of thought it was more of a late-October activity here too, but a friend of mine was pressing some apples this weekend so it got me thinking about cider. I have a crusher and press so I could always make my own but laziness and the possibility of getting juice with some interesting varieties has me wanting to look.
Kegged my English mild (with an OG that was a little too high) and installed two taps into the door of my beer fridge.
Next weekend I will be brewing a dunkelweizen. I am going to try the recipe in Brewing Classic Styles.
The oatmeal porter and the bitter that I mentioned last week got put off until tonight because of a delayed shipment. The porter is boiling now, and I’ll stay up late to knock out the bitter.
Hey Peter, I was thinking of brewing an oatmeal porter, and was wondering if you could post your recipe in the recipe exchange.
Yesterday was bottling day. I bottled three batches of beer (3gal batches), one wine kit, and racked and fined an ale that wasn’t clearing properly. I think I used 100gal of water cleaning up after all this activity. I did free up four carboys though.
Now I’m down to three batches of beer fermenting, the basement looks a little bare! But the bottled beer area is super-full.
