So this will be my 14th NHC and my 12th in a row. Good fun, good learnings, good people. It’s all good. Having a water bottle with me at most times (and drinking from it) was one lesson learned, taking power naps helps me as well. Jeff and Sue Rankert also taught me the importance of B vitimans (in the handy Propel powdered packets -easy to carry on planes). Still haven’t learned how to drink less than copious amounts at the Brewing Network parties, but otherwise I am learning…
Well Crispy…you got me beat by a longshot. Speaking of Longshot, I entered a beer in the SA Longshot this year again. This will be my third NHC. I was in San Diego and Seattle. Looking forward to more of the same great fun.
A forum meetup would be great!
I’ll be the guy running around at club night, making sure everyone has enough ice and the like.
Crispy has the good advice - stay hydrated. Drink water often. There are usually the big coolers of water around, so use them. The B vitamins in a drink like Propel before bed gets you more water and the vitamins and minerals to help your body recover before you get up and do it all over the next day. One must be aware that it will not fix a day and night of stupidity!
Take time to eat right, don’t get so caught up that you forget to have a good meal.
Pace your self. It can be a long conference, so be there at the finish.
Directly accross from the hotel is Reading Terminal market with tons of food vendors. Could always meet there (or meet in the hotel lobby and walk there). There are places to sit, but finding room might depend on how busy it is. And in such a huge place we have the risk of heading cats.
I will be there for my first NHC with my wife. We were hoping to bring more of the Trainwreck Brewers from Danville, VA, but nobody else could make it.
I really like the Reading Terminal Market, but it has no space to get more than a few people together in any one spot. I suggest we pick up some food from there and meet in the hospitality suite on Thursday after the seminars and before Pro Night.
