YCH Hop and Brew School

Jeff Rankert (hopfundmalz) and I have sung the praises of the YCH Hop and Brew School.  It’s truly a great experience…seminars in the morning, farm and processing tours in the afternoon, meeting the hop farmers and getting to ask them questions.  But for some reason, it seems like they don’t get the word out about registration so some people miss it.  I just checked and hedre’s the deal…Registration for Hop & Brew School is always the 1st Monday in June.  This year, that’s the 6th at 8:00 am PST.  IIRC, it’s $150 and that includes food and beer…LOTS of beer!  The School for homebrewers is 9/1-2.  If you’re able to make it, you won’t regret it!

I will be there. Thanks for the heads up on reg. I will set an alarm popup to reg that day.

I would totally love to schedule that in to a vacation sometime.

I wanted to be sure you didn’t miss it!

Well thanks Denny! Now if we can get PNWHC to give more than a couple weeks notice LOL

Sounds like an awesome adventure. Maybe someday, the Mrs does want to see the PNW, may to have to work it into a trip as well sooner than I thought
edit: just rechecked OP, and see its right at the beginning of school year. 5.5 years from now, no more kids in school. Maybe then

Denny, do most people all stay at the same place?

There are 2 places downtown that give discounts…the Hilton Garden Inn (the nice one!) and the Red Lion (not bad).

Hilton rocks. The one right next to is great too. Or we could all crash at Steve’s

We probably won’t go this year, but it was worth it. I am considering it for 2017. $200/person, my review is in the link.

I have room and would enjoy having homebrewing company!

I agree - Hop and brew school is a great time and well worth the price.
Just be prepared to sweat your butt off in the 100F heat out in the hop fields.

West-siders… sheesh [emoji6]

Does it get that warm in early September? It was pleasant last year.

Yeah, a couple yrs ago when I went it was hot as hell.

I live an hour south, and last year we had 100+ in June and 90s in September. It reached 80 in deer season (last week in October)

The nicest weather is usually Sept October. Warm, dry, no wind.

They were saying the hot weather in last June was unusually hot.

We get some stinking hot weather some years in early September, so I can see that. Up

Yeah, but it’s a dry heat.  ;D

OK, after reading the whole thread, I’m confused.  Is it in June, August or September?  How many days is it?

Usually the first week in September.
