I was driving into town today with the top down, grooving on being in Hawaii and listening to the Giants vs Arizona game on the radio, when there appeared in front of me a little canister vacuum cleaner looking hybrid thingy stopped in the middle of the road for no apparent reason. As I was sitting there behind this little canister vacuum cleaner looking hybrid thingy I noticed on it a bumper sticker that said, “Imagine World Peace!” and another that said, “Support Organic Farming”
After the oncoming traffic cleared, the little canister vacuum cleaner looking hybrid thingy made a left turn. As I accelerated away I yelled to the driver of the little canister vacuum cleaner looking hybrid thingy, “Hey Moonbeam, learn to use your F-ing turn signals or next time take the F-ing bus!”
However, this got me thinking about bumper stickers I’d like to put on my car:
“Never Mind World Peace - Imagine Using Your Turn Signals!” and
I know an engineer that works for Tesla. He brought one out to the pool hall one day. That thing was ridiculously awesome. Looks and sounds just like a full scale RC car. ;D
They have a “deal” in France you can lease a roadster for 36 months for 2k eur/mo and then they do a buyback when your model s is ready. It ends up paying for itself, more or less… But I don’t think I can justify that one to the wife. A sack of grain or a perlick faucet every now and then, no problem. Leasing a 100,000 eur sportscar? Well. Can’t win 'em all.
Back to the topic: I have only one bumper sticker - “I brew the beer I drink” - apparently I’m the only AHA member who put that on his car, everybody else seems to have put it on the coleman cooler or the HLT or whatever. Sometimes at stoplights I can look in the rearview at people trying to figure out what it says. It’s more a badge of honor than a conversation starter, but I like it.
I would love to put more bumper stickers on the thing - I’ve got a bunch of Obama '08 and even a vintage Clinton '92 (that one stays inside and not on the car, though) but nerdy bumperstickers are the best. CERN ain’t too far away from here, perhaps I should visit and see what they’ve got…
Yeah, that’s the idea - you lease it until you’ve paid off the model s, and then you get to trade 'em in. A business associate of mine is test-driving this: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/special/ev/
I really want to go electric. It’s just that all of the other electric cars besides the tesla are so… ugly.
i really like my truck and don’t wanna put a cheap ass sticker on it. however, i do have a small sticker on my motorcycle helmet that says “faster than a speeding ticket.” pretty funny but i recently found out it’s not true.
Well, uhm - you can’t freakin see it unless you are holding the hemet. It’s about 2 inches and 24 point type. I’m not that dumb to put a huge bumper sticker on my helmet that says “catch me”. But nice assumption. Sheesh… :
