My first use of this yeast is a cascadian dark ale. It went from 1.055 to 1.010 for 82% attenuation. I was quite happy with taste of the hydrometer sample.
Any peach flavor detected? That’s often the complaint with -05.

I used Cellar Science Cali once. I didn’t get peach flavors. I liked the beer it made.
Is this Chico Ale another repackaged yeast from a different yeast lab?
If not, what makes it different from the others?
Cellar Science is repackaged from AEB, it looks like. Beyond that, although though it’s in the Chico family, there are many yeasts in the family that have drifted from the original including 1056 and US-05 but also Pacman, BRY-97, White Labs 090 and the Fat Tire Yeast.

No, but it’s a black ale with 52 IBUs from azecca. So it might be there, but my taster isn’t sensitive enough to tell.
I’ve made two batches with this yeast. One was an adjunct cream ale and the other was a blonde ale. It is a clean yeast and I’d suspect it’s repackaged us-05. With the cream ale there is no flavor there, outside of the yeast, and that’s exactly how it’s designed. It’s to test american lager and mexican lager strains (aka the strains the major players use with adjunct lagers). I’m not the biggest fan of us-05/1056 but that’s more of a preference thing. Many others use the heck out of those strains with good results!
I went to morebeer.com yesterday and was going to order some Cellar Science Cali yeast. But the price is now the same as Bry-97. So, I went with that.
At that point the only advantage to C S is the larger amount.
