Club-Only Stout Winners

The Rock Hoppers Brew Club of Castle Rock, Colorado is proud to announce the results of the March 2012 Club Only Competition: Stout It Out Loud, comprised of BJCP Category 13 entries from clubs all around the country.

We received 99 entries of dark deliciousness. The overall winners are:

  • 1st Place: Mac Butcher of Tulsa, Oklahoma - Fellowship of Oklahoma Ale Makers (FOAM); Foreign Extra Stout.
  • 2nd Place: Matt Bollerman of Mastic Beach, New York - Brewers East End Revival (BEER); Russian Imperial Stout.
  • 3rd Place: Eric Troutman of Concord, North Carolina - Cabarrus Homebrewers Society; Oatmeal Stout.

Wow, 99 - that’s a lot of Stouts. 
Just curious, did you send only the first place beer of each category to the best of show round or the top three?

For the larger categories, Oatmeal and Imperial, the top two were sent. For the others, only the first place was sent to the BOS round.
