I’ll have to actually read that later but my interest is piqued.
Brewing is inextricably intertwined with the history of human civilisation.
This was a fermented beverage made from grains, but I doubt that we would recognize it as beer.
I also doubt they would recognize our beer as an acceptable beverage [emoji28] I’d love to try their stuff.
This is one of those articles where I wish the journalist had some knowledge of the subject matter. It would have been a more interesting article if the reporter knew to ask what kind of grains, were there any other ingredients like bittering herbs or spices, and so on.

Reading journalism about something you’re already familiar with is always a fraught experience.
