Montana Craft Malt

What are your thoughts/experience’s with Craft Montana Malt? Specifically the bavarian pilsner malt but any of them is appreciated! As a side note, I tend to go through stages of specific brands for multiple iterations of a few select styles. The last of which has been Weyermann, particularly their floor malted, with desirable results.
Cheers!!

I’ve made great beers with it.

I don’t think I used Montana’s pils malt, but in my experience, its 2 row as compared to other mass produced 2 row was that it produced a richer, more fully developed maltiness in my beers.  Almost like there was an additional specialty malt involved.  I mean this in a positive way from a complexity standpoint.

Thanks Denny, thanks brusome!

I just bought a sack of their pilsner and a sack of their British pale on Friday from them, as they are 65 miles away from me.  I haven’t brewed with them yet, but I talked to a local craft brewer about them. Apparently they got off to a rocky start regarding quality, but they hired a new maltster from Rahr over year ago who turned things around, and they now produce outstanding malt used widely by Montana craft brewers.

My pro brewer friend hasn’t used their pilsner yet, but he said other craft brewers have had great success, with one brewer telling him its as least as good as Weyermann if not better. I’m looking forward to brewing with it.

I’ve used a few sacks of their pils. My local hasn’t had it in stock. I loved it actually
