Now I've seen everything.

I guess it was inevitable. Beer brewed just for dogs:  http://www.care2.com/greenliving/beer-made-just-for-dogs.html#

Yum, beef beer!

For years, I joked about making pork chops the secret ingredient for our club’s Iron Brewer comp.  Recently, a guy in the club actually took me up on it and made a pork chop beer!  It was amazingly good.

And you had the nerve to knock me for using Jolly Ranchers?!?!!?  :o ;D

Hey, i didn’t think anybody would be crazy enough to ACTUALLY use pork chops!  He smoked 'em and added a bit of sage, too.

Well, didn’t some recipes call for a Cock (male chicken) to be added to the boil? Talk about umami…

They actually put it in the fermenter.  See Complete Joy of Home Brewing, 3rd ed., p. 96 -97.

It doesn’t have alcohol, its beef flavored, its not carbonated, and it very likely isn’t hopped.  Seems more like bottled boullion than beer.  The name and the bottle are probably just marketing.  Unless its fermented and then the alcohol mostly extracted, like NA beer, but I kind of doubt that.

Would be a good gag gift for a brewer with dogs, but I imagine the price they get for putting beef broth in beer bottles is extravagant!

I would hope it’s not hopped, as hops can be toxic to dogs. Apparently greyhounds are the most susceptible.

Right, hence my assumption.  With alcohol and hops out there isn’t much for dogs with beer anyway…but we all know “Beef Broth for Dogs” wouldn’t turn a profit for investors.

Yummy…

Around here we call that one a clambic . . .

You get a sadtrombone.com for that.

;D  Fair enough.

I wasn’t joking though, it’s a local story and comes up pretty regularly, and that’s what we call it.

I wonder if Sam should jump on this for one of his shows
