Here is an article from over here in England that as an American who is lucky enough to live here, can find these treasures all over the country. This is something that is amiss in the states. Not to say you can’t pub crawl in a city but this is beer drinking with the great added feature of getting to hike from country pub to country pub. Also, with the growth of microbreweries over here, the reward keeps getting better.
As a Brit who lives in Britain, I can also tell you of a number of great trainline pub crawls. Nearly every station in Britain has a pub nearby.

Oops!
Alright here is the beer link. I have wondered about the train/pub crawl. This area of East Anglia has plenty of pubs near rail stations.
There’s an East Anglia Rail Ale Trail here - http://www.wherrylines.org.uk/aletrack.htm
Uh oh, I sense road trip! Err, I mean rail trip.
So, Euro AHA fellows, who wants to meet up and do this during this summer? Maybe during the NHC weekend, so we don’t feel left out?
Yes I’m serious.
I’d be game, but I may actually be in Seattle talking about Soviet beers.
Incidentall Phil, I have you on the list for a BJCP exam next October, and I’m running a prep course which has webbased distance learning. We’ve had two classes, and the next is in January. More details here - http://www.bristolbrewers.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=265
Well crap, I had no idea the classes were going on. Was there an email sent out? Did you record the web distance stuff for the two previous sessions?

The answer to both of your questions is yes. We even have a BJCP course forum on the Bristol Brewer’s forum. If you sign up I’ll give you access.

Ok, just registered. Thanks!
You should be set up now. The forum has most of what you’ll need.
Hope to see you online for the January class.
