The Mountain Ale & Lager Tasters (MALT) of Asheville Welcome you!

It is t-minus one week to HomebrewCon and MALT is excited to welcome you! We have a couple of special events to add flavor and enhance attendees’ experiences.

Our club meets on Wednesday June 17th at The River Arts District Brewing Co. (https://theradbrewco.com/) from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, a one mile walk from Harrah’s Civic Center. Attendees are welcome to join us. We meet downstairs, but first grab a beer at the brewery upstairs and bring your glass (and some homebrew to share if you brought some). Perhaps enjoy the Peach Sour that MALT brewed in collaboration with The RAD and get your first Passport stamped.

Passport - what’s that? MALT members brewed collaborations with eight local breweries to celebrate Homebrew Con. Check out these breweries for our beers ( Welcome to Asheville! - Mountain Ale and Lager Tasters ), and print off a copy of the passport that you can take with you (https://maltsters.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/NCH-Passport.pdf). A limited number of printed passports will also be available at the Wednesday club meeting and at the MALT booth/Homebrewers Hospitality bar.

MALT and Diatribe Brewing collaborated for this year’s Toast Homebrew to make a dark rye lager based on a recipe from one of the club’s members. It features base rye malt, Munich rye malt, and crystal rye malt, and has a delicate kiss of Amarillo and Mosaic hops. Local maltster Riverbend Malt House and White Labs donated grain and yeast for the collaboration.

You can knock off another brewery on your Passport at Diatribe Brewing Co. on Sunday, June 21. From 10:30 to noon, Diatribe will offer free bagels and cream cheese, along with a free pint of the Dark Rye Lager, both while supplies last. There’s extra parking at the Truist bank on the other side of the street when they’re closed on Sunday.

Our club members have been busy brewing yummy fermentations that will show up throughout the conference event and several members will be sharing their passion and knowledge at a number of brewer talks. Enjoy your visit to Asheville.

I introduced you to my wife and blamed the hobby on you! :joy:

Thinking back on it, I realize that. I have 2 excuses…my hearing is bad and I’d been drinking! I’m so sorry I didn’t hang around to chat more, but I’m glad we got some brief face time.
